Australian Open
NGV
Visit Federation Square, The Ian Potter Centre to enjoy some of the AFL’s excellent players from all 18 teams between September 2015 and April 2016. If you want to take your kids to a fabulous exhibition, Studio Cats presented by NGV Kids (from 11 December 2015 to 24 April 2016) is a must-experience thing; the exhibition will showcase artists’ love for cats through various art-crafts.
Luna Park
A quite a popular theme park of Melbourne, Luna park have got four new rides to begin the summer holidays with a bang. From mini dodgem cars for the younger kids and body rock for some real thrill to jungle Twist which all your family member can enjoy together, the theme park has got something special for every age group.
Melbourne Zoo
What if your kid can get a chance to become a seal life saver this summer? Sounds exciting, right? Well, from 19 December 2015 to 24 March 2016, Melbourne Zoo will allow children to meet the seals, penguins and pelicans at the Wild Sea and learn how they can save the marine wildlife.
ACMI
Starting from 23rd December to 31 January 2016, ACMI (The Australian Centre of the Moving Image) is running filmmaking workshops, screening several films and there is a lot free stuff for children. Hurry up; take your kids to Flinders Street at Federation Square!
SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium
If you want to make your kids explore the great diversity of the marine life and experience the vastness of the ocean ecosystem in the most exciting way, take your toddler to the SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium. In addition to its state-of-the-art displays, now the aquarium has rolled out a brand-new 4D show for kids, named as “Ice Age: No Time For Nuts”. It is a lot more to keep your kids engaged for the rest of the day.
Phillip Island Nature Parks
You will need to drive out of the city to reach Phillip Island Nature Parks, which makes a perfect destination for a family day-out. You can book campervan hire Melbourne to add more fun and thrill to your day-out. The park is about 90 minutes drive from the city. Some of the major highlights of the park include the penguin parade, the Nobbies Centre, Antarctic Journey, Penguins Plus, Koala conversation centre and Wild Ocean Eco Boat Tour. Disney previews at Australian Grand Prix
Disney is all set to delight both kids and their parents during 2016 Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix held between 17th and 20th March this year. Kids below 14 in age will get free entry with their parents. Disney kids’ zone in the Alberta Park Grand Prix Circuit will exhibit Disney characters and will host fun activities from Disney channels. There will be special setting created for parents (named as ‘Parents Pit Stop) so they can relax and watch kids having fun!
