How to use Aussie Campervans?

Booking online for campervan rental or motorhome hire in Australia have never been easier.
4 easy steps and you are on your way to your Motorhome holidays.

Select your Vehicle
Enter your vehicle rental requirements in the Quote Calculator and click on the "Search" button. A comprehensive list of available vehicles on offer at the selected locations will be displayed.

Email Quote Request
Select the vehicle that suit your requirements and click on "Email Send" button. A competitive quote will be emailed to you outlining the best price options for the vehicle you have selected plus outlining the inclusions and exclusions. You can request for as many quotes as you like for comparison purposes. Just follow the previous steps again.

Booking your Vehicle
Once you have chosen your preferred vehicle, click on the "Book Now" button and a summary of your reservation will be populated on the secure booking form.

Check that your rental and contact details are correct. Amend if you wish to update new details and include your credit card payment details to make a booking.

  • If your pick-up date is within 34 days, full payment for the daily rental amount will be required
  • If your pick-up date is outside 35 days, a deposit of $250.00 will be required. The balance of the daily rental amount is due 34 days prior to pick-up. We will send a reminder email when the balance is due.

You will receive an online confirmation voucher of your booking (subject to successful credit card processing). This voucher is only valid when the final balance has been processed.

What are Calendar Days?

Campervan and motorhome rentals are based on calendar days. This means that the days of pick-up and drop-off are counted as a day of rental each, regardless of actual pick-up and drop-off times.

For example: a rental from 11-21 January would be calculated as 11 days rental, regardless of the pick-up and drop-off times.

Can I Go One Way?

Yes - between all branches one-way rentals are permitted but a minimum number of days apply. Each company has different minimum day requirements.

Can Multiple Bookings be combined for Lower Rates?

Yes - If you have multiple bookings these can be combined to give you a long term hire discount on both rentals. To do this you will have to email us as the system will not know about your other rentals.

Age Restrictions

Minimum age is 18 years or 19 years for the budget vehicles (please refer to vehicle Terms and Conditions). For all other vehicles the minimum age is 21 year. All drivers must have full license for minimum 12 months (some vehicles may require minimum 2 years).

Baby and Booster Seats

Baby seats are recommended for children
Weight - 8 to 18kg
Age - Approximately 6 months to 3 years

Booster seats are recommended for children:
Weight - 14 to 26kg
Age - Approximately 3 to 7 years

If you wish to bring your own baby/booster seat, please ensure that your seat complies with the strict Australian child restraint standards.

Do I need a special driver's license?

A valid current car driver’s license is to be produced for everyone intending to drive the vehicle. State, Overseas or International Licenses are acceptable. Whilst driving ensure that you carry your licence with you and if it is not in English carry a translation.

How long does the battery system last?

All vehicles have a dual battery system. This means that the engine battery is separate from the battery system used for internal appliances, such as the fridge, lights and water pump The appliance battery system will last approximately 12 hours when fully charged. The batteries only recharge when you drive the vehicle. Since the engine battery is separate, if you flatten one of the rear batteries, you will still be able to start the engine and drive.

All vehicles have the facility to plug into electricity. When you plug into electricity in a caravan park, all accessories automatically run off 240V electricity rather then the batteries. You can then use appliances such as the television, microwave and rear air conditioning that only run off electricity.

Where do we camp at night?

We strongly recommend that you stay in a caravan (RV) park. Australia has an extensive network of caravan parks in all major tourist centres and in most towns. They offer excellent recreation facilities and of course have superb shower and toilet amenities. They also have provision for you to plug the vehicle into electricity.

There is ordinarily no need to book ahead, however it may be wise to book ahead in peak periods (Easter, Christmas etc). The approximate cost of a powered site is AU$25 per night. The approximate cost for a non powered site is AU$15 to AU$20 a night. Most national parks have areas set aside for camping. There are often shower and toilets, barbeques and picnic areas and of course national parks provide a scenic and peaceful place to stay at overnight. However these areas generally do not have facility for you to plug the vehicle into electricity. Because of local council laws you are not permitted to camp on the side of the road in the vicinity of towns. However outside the towns and in country areas it is generally allowed

Problems with vehicle

Any problems associated with the vehicle, including equipment failure, must be reported to supplier as soon as possible and within 24 hours in order to give supplier the opportunity to rectify the problem during the rental. Repairs can be made with authorisation from supplier. Repairs will be approved provided the hirer was not directly responsible for the damage. Receipts must be submitted for any repair or the claim will not be paid.

Breakdowns and Accident Assistance

All vehicles are fully maintained, serviced and detailed between rentals by our experienced staff. However, minor problems can occur. If advice or assistance for breakdown is required, support is available to every renter throughout Australia by telephoning the freecall number displayed on the vehicle or calling into any of the supplier's branches. Accidents must be reported within 24 hours. The renter must not admit liability to other parties or make any offer of settlement.

Vehicle Damage Liability

The Excess or Liability is the amount of money that you are responsible for if the vehicle or any third party property is damaged while on hire. This is regardless of who actually causes the damage.

Most motorhome rental companies have an Excess or Liability of AU$3000 to AU$8000. So, for example, if you are involved in an accident (regardless of whether you are at fault or not), you would be liable for the first AU$3000 to AU$8000 worth of damage.

The rental companies therefore offer a number of protection options to reduce this Excess or Liability. The amount of protection that you take (or do not take) determines the amount of your Security Deposit (Bond). Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that you take out your own Personal Injury Travel Insurance. The insurance options to reduce the Excess/Liability on the rental vehicle do not include cover for personal injury or loss of personal belongings.
