El Questro Station, or to give it its true name El Questro Wilderness Park , is an oasis in the rugged and beautiful Kimberley region. Located 100 km west of Kununurra, which if traveling by road is 58 km on the sealed Great Northern Highway , the rest of the drive is on the graded gravel Gibb River Road.

Not just a wilderness, El Questro is one of the world's more unique accommodation properties - an unusual mix of remoteness and comfort. One million acres in size, with a choice of the air conditioned suites and rooms of the El Questro Homestead , the tented cabins of the Emma Gorge Resort and bungalows in the Station Township .

Given that there are one million acres, a 4WD is recommended to really get out and explore the country. While the property does provide return road transfers from Kununurra, and guided tours, it's best that you take the opportunity of hiring a 4WD camper or 4WD car for the duration of your stay.

Argyle Diamond Mine - diamonds were first discovered here in 1979, and it has grown to be one of the world's most successful diamond mines, producing more than a third of the world's supply. Industrial, orange, yellow, champagne, cognac, white and the very rare pink diamonds are mined here, and it is only from Kununurra that guided tours of the operation, either by coach or by plane, can be undertaken

South of the diamond mine lies the Purnululu National Park, and its star attraction the Bungle Bungle Range. Numerous operators out of Kununurra run aerial tours of this park's natural and geological marvels.
