Safety remains an important concern for a woman when it comes to travelling alone to different parts of the world. There is no denying the fact that, with the passage of time women have become stronger, independent and more intelligent but that does not mean they can ignore safety and security measures taken during a trip.

Nowadays, a large number of solo female travellers are looking forward to exploring the world in order to gain more knowledge about different people and their cultures. They enjoy discovering new destinations and learning more about them. Meeting new people, exploring nature and discover different types of foods and wines are common activities that one does during a holiday trip. But when it comes to women, they always have a never-ending list of things to do.

So, if you are a modern woman who is planning a solo trip to explore different holiday destinations in Australia, here are some excellent tips on how to stay safe and enjoy your trip to the fullest.

1. Pick Safe Destinations

Well, it’s completely true that most of the holiday destinations in Australia are completely safe for women travellers but to be on the safer side you can stick to places like Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Cairns, and the Great Barrier Reef etc. These places are not only beautiful and interesting but are equally safe for female travellers. If they plan to discover vibrant and multicultural cities like Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, Solo female travellers can keep themselves busy in exploring museums and art galleries, beautiful gardens, stunning holiday parks, luxury malls and night life etc. In addition to that, they can also explore the architecture of these cities and their delicious cuisines.

2. Don’t Start Your Journey without a Travel Insurance

No matter where you are travelling to and how many days you want to spend in your holiday destination, make sure that you purchase a travel insurance before you start your journey. When it comes to purchasing your travel insurance make sure that it covers all the important things such as medical problems and road accidents. It’s always better if it can also cover theft because solo travelling comes with its own risks and problems. Once you have your travel insurance in place, you can enjoy your trip like anything.

So, whenever you start your trip always make sure to carry your insurance details and relevant contact number associated with it that can help you out during an emergency.

3. Carry Important Medicines

If you have any sort of health problem and you are taking medications for it, make sure that you pack them at the first place. Nothing is more important than your health and hence staying healthy should remain your top priority. You can’t enjoy your trip if you are not feeling well, so take your medicines on time.

4. Pack all Your Important Clothes & Accessories

Holidays are one of the best times to flaunt your personality and to remain comfortable at the same time, so pack comfy clothes and your favourite accessories. If you are planning to explore beaches and island holiday destinations make sure that you pack a couple of swimsuits, shorts, t-shirts, comfy skirts, and jeans etc. In addition to that, you should pack a good body lotion and a sunscreen to protect your skin from getting damaged. Other important things that you must carry include sunglasses, a camera (if you love photography), and a hat.

5. Book your Hotels in Advance

If you want to stick to your budget, then it’s better to book your flight tickets and hotels in advance. If you are a group of girls, and all of you enjoy driving, then you can also plan a self-drive road trip to explore Australia. You can hire a campervan from Aussie Campervans and can go on exploring different destinations at your own convenience.

And once you travel in a campervan, you can setup your camp anywhere you feel is safe, which is again a very cost-effective way of enjoying your trip.

However, if you are travelling solo, then it’s better to use public transport like buses and trains.

6. Make Friends

Befriending the locals is one of the best ways to understand the culture of a new place. In other words, if you want to know more about a place, it’s better to get in touch with local people and talk to them as much as you can. No one can give you more authentic information about a place than its own people, so you should always try to go closer to them and get as much information as you can. For example, if you want to enjoy the authentic food of a place you can ask the local people to suggest a good restaurant that sells mouth-watering dishes.

7. Explore the Wildlife

Australia is really popular for its unique wildlife, and if you are not an Australian you must try to explore different kinds of birds, animals, reptiles found in the country. You can visit zoos, wildlife sanctuaries and national parks to explore Australia’s unique flora and fauna.

One of the best places to explore the unique animals found in Australia is the Daintree Rainforest. You can see cassowary, Bennett's tree-kangaroo and Lumholtz's Tree-kangaroo, the musky rat kangaroo, and the Buff-breasted paradise kingfisher if you explore the Daintree rainforest.

So, if you are an independent you can enjoy your life the way you want, after all the world is your oyster.
