Day 1 – Sydney to Nelson Bay 

Distance: 207 Km

Time: 2 hour, 49 Minutes

Dolphin watching at Nelson Bay, a charming suburb on the southern shores of Port Stephens, forms the major highlight of your first day tour. However, there is a lot more things to see and do in this sleepy town of NSW. Just 15 minute drive away from the town is Halifax Beachside Holiday Park, where you can relax over night before embarking upon the next day adventure.

Day 2 – Nelson Bay to Port Macquarie

Distance: 250 Km

Time: 3 Hours, 18 Minutes

I was also fortunate enough to watch thousands of mutton birds, whom after the island is named as ‘mutton bird island’. 

If you happen to be here between June and November, fair chances are you will get closer look to humpback whales. Don’t miss the famous touristy sights of Pet Porpoise Pool and the Big Banana. Just a few minute ride away from big Banana is the Emerald Beach holiday park with some great amenities and facilities. 

Day 4 - Coffs Harbour to Byron Bay

Distance: 240 Km

Time: 3 Hours, 30 Minutes

Quite a famous tourist sight of NSW, Byron Bay is home to magnificent beaches surrounded by lush green hills and there is a rocky Cape Byron in close proximity. Upon arrival, you will feel the laid back vibes. Head down to the main beach area where you can watch dolphins jumping high close to the shore. And don’t miss out on visiting the lighthouse. 

Day 5 - Byron Bay to Gold Coast

Distance: 102 KM 

Time: 1 Hour, 30 Minutes
